Daniel was an excellent photographer who knew exactly where to find the best opportunities for candid shots. Although this was not intended as a teaching trip, Daniel proved to be an excellent teacher -- he monitored each one of us (without intruding) to notice who was struggling and always offering to help (never insisting). He welcomed our questions and answered them honestly and easily with a touch of humor thrown in for good measure. I hope he offers another field trip opportunity real soon!

Photography is not just a job to me, it is a passion, a way of life, some may even say, it is an obsession. Very rarely will you see me without a camera over my shoulder. My passion for the art of photography started way back in high school. Since that time I have devoted my life to creating images and teaching. I do not limit myself to the studio, I also shoot street photography and an occasional wedding.

After high school I moved to Atlanta GA to study photography at the Portfolio Center and later at the Art Institute of Atlanta. During this time I started to assist several photographers in the area. After my education I moved back to Syracuse and became a studio manager, and taught photography on the Syracuse University campus.

I was wandering around my house outside exploring and looking for interesting things to capture. You would be surprised what you may find if you just slow down and be patient. This ultimately had me cross paths with a fly, which for the most part we all consider to be well, just a fly. I snapped a few photos, honestly not totally knowing if any of them would come out. As it turns out the fly inevitably had his moment to shine. I love macro photos as they tend to make the most boring things comp

Taking a hot air balloon ride was always on my bucket list. My friend and I saw they were launching at Letchworth State Park so we called to see if we could book a ride. We were told it was touch and go due to the inclement weather conditions and we?d have to drive there to see if they were launching. We went for it! Impatiently waiting, most launches were cancelled due to winds, we were almost ready to give up and got the OK!!! It was the most magical experience! We dipped into the canyons

I was lucky to get close enough to this Great Blue Heron to get this shot. Although I live very close to Montezuma and go frequently for the peace and quiet, it's a rare event to be close enough to the birds to shoot with my 200mm. This majestic GBH was such a good sport and posed silently for enough time to take this image.

I try to shoot the sunset every night with the lighthouse. I have shot the lighthouse thousands of times and it never gets old. Every night it?s a different shooting experience. A group of photographers get together from the area and shoot together most nights. We talk a lot of photography and help each other. Great times!!

This image is a Still Life Composition of "Berries, Wine and Grapes" that I created on a rainy day in my bedroom. I used no fancy Studio Lighting at all. My only light source was a hand-held flashlight that I kept moving rapidly. It was an experiment in Light Painting when I couldn't go outside to shoot.

I took this picture as a quiet metaphor for life. The wheel rpresents the circle of life: rising, reaching its height, and slowly descending. The sunset suggests the end of the journey, not with fear, but with beauty and dignity. The reflection in the river is like old memoriessoft, blurred, but still alive. In that moment, I felt I was not photographing London, but time itself: life moving in a circle, the day coming to an end, and the past glowing gently in the water.
